THE WASTE FORUM

The Future of The Waste Forum 

The Waste Forum is a high-level citizens' forum dedicated to promoting sustainable waste management solutions in Nigeria. The forum is an Initiative of the Statewide Waste and Environmental Education Foundation (SWEEP Foundation) in partnership with The Ministry of The Environment and Water Resources, Lagos, the Coca-Cola Company and the Lagos Waste Management Authority to co-create innovative strategies addressing waste and environmental pollution in Nigeria 

Aptly tagged “The Future of Waste Forum”, the theme for this year's forum focuses on The Power of Nigeria's Waste Economy. The Forum affords stakeholders the opportunity to share best practices driving sustainability in waste management in Nigeria and beyond. 

The 6th Lagos Waste Forum is scheduled to take place on December 2nd – 3rd, 2025, at the esteemed Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos. This premier event will convene a diverse assembly of experts, stakeholders, government agencies, and corporate institutions.

To create a world where waste is managed sustainably, and communities thrive in a clean and healthy environment.
Mission:

To promote sustainable waste management practices, foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, and raise awareness about the importance of proper waste management.
Goals:

1. Promote Sustainable Waste Management: Share best practices and innovative solutions for reducing, recycling, and managing waste.

2. Foster Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Bring together stakeholders from various countries and industries to exchange ideas and expertise.

3. Raise Awareness and Education: Educate communities, policymakers, and businesses about the importance of proper waste management.


Outcomes:
1. Increased Adoption of Sustainable Waste Practices: 
More organizations and communities adopt environmentally friendly waste management practices.

2. Improved Policy and Regulation: Inform and influence policy decisions that support sustainable waste management.
